A modern classic from Peter Som for a woman who is urban but also a free-spirited gypsy inspired by the 60' and 70's, with structured minimalism. Introducing the A/W 14 Peter Som nail palette... Charlotte (natural), Severine (natural metallic), and Anais (charcoal metallic black). [text taken from the promo image seen in photo above]

The Zoya & Peter Som A/W 2012 collaboration was the collection that inspired my love of nail polish at Fashion Week. The idea that a nail polish - and 3, none the less! - was created specifically for a designer's NYFW show was brilliant. Zoya has continued to collaborate with Peter Som and for his A/W 2014 runway show, three new custom created colors emerged: Charlotte, Severine, and Anais.
from L to R: Charlotte, Anais, and Severine
It was a pleasure to speak with Zoya's color expert Rebecca Isa about the look and custom colors, which Isa described as a "modern take on neutrals". At first glance, Anais appears black but upon closer inspection, you'll see a "vein of warm pewter running through it". That same warm pewter seen in Anais makes up Severine. And Charlotte - a polish that could belong in the Naturel collection - is described by Isa as a "two coat full coverage cream khaki". All three polishes were designed to complement each other.

See the shimmer in Anais?
Designed with Peter Som's team to complement his collection, Isa described the nail look as a "modern twist on color blocking". Severine, the pewter, and Charlotte, the khaki, were the "two vertical veins of color running down the length of the nail". The look was softened with a half moon curve at the cuticle with Anais (the warm black). Isa loved the nail look & Som's collection!
Most of the models had only just started getting their nails done while I was there, but I did manage to find this one gal who was all done!
To recreate this look, Isa recommends using a thin, natural fiber nail art brush with a tapered tip to create the half moon shape. The vertical bars of color can be painted on carefully with the nail polish brush. Similar Zoya polishes are Raven, Jules, and Farrah :)
These three Peter Som Zoya custom colors won't be available for purchase individually, but Isa hinted that they may be available as part of an upcoming Zoya promotion. Keep your eye on Zoya's blog and Facebook page if you're interested!
