It's been awhile since I've taken you a field trip here on Gotham Polish and while this one was somewhat unplanned, I think you're going to enjoy it :)
On 6th Ave in Chelsea between 21st and 22nd St, a Harmon Face Values store opened just this week! You may have heard this name before as Harmon is the "store within a store" found in Bed Bath & Beyonds and Christmas Tree Shops. You might even have a Harmon Face Values store by you.
Basically, the Harmon Face Values store looks like a Bed Bath & Beyond. Minus the "bed", and less of the "beyond" (remember that Simpson's episode? "Oh, here are the coffee mugs." I digress).
But here's the part worth talking about. The front of the store is all about makeup and there is a HUGE section in the center completely dedicated to all things nails. Everything looked so neat and tidy - you'll see that in my pictures - but I really wonder how much of that is because the store had just opened :) Time will tell!
Here's one side of the long nail polish aisle...
...and the other:
The newer collections are on the top shelf. They even had the newest Color Club collections, which I haven't seen anywhere in the city yet!

Notably missing from the nail polish selection are major brands OPI, China Glaze, and Zoya. Ah well, we can't have it all!
Around the perimeter of the beauty section the walls are lined with the usual drug store makeup brands like L'Oréal, Maybelline, and Neutrogena. I didn't take pictures of those because, well, you know what that scene looks like.
The NYX section however does deserve a shout out as it was particularly impressive:
There was also a brand I've never heard of - Studio Makeup? Is anyone familiar with it?
So the next time you go to Trader Joe's, don't forget to stop by Harmon Face Values next door. I'd love to hear what you think if you check it out!
Harmon Face Values is located on 6th Ave between 21st and 22nd St. Not in NYC? Check out the website to see if there's a store by you!
