New York Fashion Week A/W '13 is all about stunning colour. Meet Stag Do, the hottest colour on the catwalks. A deep slate blue creme nail lacquer with a slight green shimmer. Snag yours today, before it's too late! -butter LONDON
Stag Do is one butter LONDON's Nordstrom exclusive polishes (the other being Two Fingered Salute). In addition to my love of blackened teal polish, the "slight green shimmer" was what really drew me in!
Just look at how intense the shimmer looks in butter's signature angular bottle. The shimmer is not only green, but my eyes saw some blue and pink bits as well. In the bottle, Stag Do reminds me of a toned-down and less sparkly version of Jack the Lad (review).
On the nail, Stag Do looks like a much different polish. The intense green shimmer doesn't translate on the nail, and even in direct sunlight it's hardly noticeable. Deceptive shimmer aside, I really do adore this shade of polish on my nails. It's a very wearable teal (as opposed to the brighter or more vivid kinds of teal you would notice from across a room!) and has a touch of smoky/murkiness that's perfect for winter.
The formula of Stag Do is perfection. Over butter LONDON Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat (aka my go-to base coat), it wasn't too thick, not streaky, and so opaque it's almost perfect in one coat. The opaque formula may be the culprit concealing the beautiful shimmer! I did unfortunately experience some less-than-awesome tip wear after only a couple days :/
Compared to other deep smoky teal polishes, Stag Do is bluer than Zoya Noot (review) and darker than Essie Go Overboard. Nicole by OPI Khloe Had a Little Lam Lam may be close (I don't have it). Any other polishes come to mind?
Oh, and the name? Stag Do is a British bachelor party :)
Stag Do is available on butter LONDON's website as well as on Nordstrom.

I am a huge fan of butter LONDON polishes, so this is definitely on my Wishlist! I wore Two fingered Salute yesterday, and that's one of the coolest polishes I own!
ReplyDeleteI've heard such great things about Two Fingered Salute :) Such a unique polish!
DeleteI think I have to have this! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt's an excellent color and looks great in the winter especially!
DeleteHa: I thought the polish on your nails was a different Butter polish all together.....the shimmer completely disappears! I love the colour though, very deep and mysterious :-)
ReplyDeleteHah! Which polish did you think it was?
