What more could you ask for on a sunny, spring day? ;)
Seeing the cherry trees in bloom at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden has been on my wish list for quite some time. The beautiful pink cherry trees - called 'Kazan' cherry trees - were just about in full bloom. Walking under the canopy of pink blossoms was surreal and like something out of a dream.
OPI DS Signature is a baby pink polish with intense linear holo. I found this at Beauty 35 last May and at the time, thought $12 was a lot to spend on an OPI but am happy now I didn't pass it up.
If only the cherry blossoms could stay around all spring...

WOW - great shots of the cherry blossoms. You got them more on the normal time frame than they did down in DC this year. Love the comparison you made with the blossoms to DS Signature. Reminds me that I need to pull up out of my database all my DS shades and make a separate database for my DS's - folks ask me all the time how many I have and I honestly don't know. I got lucky and started to collect them before the older ones prices went way up there. However I did not grab Glamour - darn it - not sure what happened when it was out. I am thinking the one place I have to buy them never had it in stock. I just missed it with no fingernail swatches of the shades there at the store of the current DS shades. So sadly, that one evades me still to this day.
ReplyDeleteWow, so many you don't know?! Now that sounds like a wonderful amount of DS polishes to have! I think Glamour is a lemming for many of us ;)
Deleteme + NYC=Happyness!
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful cherry trees is such a change from the streets and city right outside the park :)
DeleteSugoi!!! I love those trees and your nails! :D
ReplyDeleteThe trees are almost done blooming, but at least I have the polish all year ;)
DeleteOooh pretty! The department stores sell OPI here for $20 and people still buy it, it's craaaazy!
ReplyDeleteYikes... I only have a handful of polishes that cost $20 or more! But you have other brands that are $$$ for us to get here :)
DeleteHow absolute appropriate to wear a beautiful nail polish on a day like that. :)
ReplyDeleteOPI polishes here retail for US$22 for the regular ones. DS Designers are US$31! O__0
oyyy... OK I will never again think that $12 was too much for this polish :)
DeleteKeep an eye out on my blog in the next couple of days for a nice cherry blossom mani ;-)
ReplyDeletegreat colour btw!
Looking forward to it!
DeleteYou were right by my project! I'm working on the new Visitor's Center right by the Cherry Blossoms.
ReplyDeleteOh so awesome! We were talking about how nice that will be when it opens :)
DeletePretty O_O + looks perfect on you
ReplyDeleteThanks! Holo looks great on EVERYONE :)
DeleteGorgeous pictures! I need to get over to the gardens but I did see the gorgeous trees on Roosevelt Island on Sunday!
ReplyDeleteYes I can't believe there are so many! But I think the blossoms must have all dropped off overnight :/
DeleteWow! The cherry blossoms are so pretty and your photos are fantastic! I need to go to New York to see the blossom for myself one day :-) Love the polish too :-)
ReplyDeleteYou totally should! They don't stay blooming for too long though, they are actually just about done now :(
DeleteThat's something I'd love to see in real life! And your pictures of it.. so pretty ♥!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed them :) I have more pictures of the garden to share too!
DeleteI love holo *.* Pretty!
ReplyDeleteAgree 100% :)
DeleteI love cherry blossoms! I wish I was there to see it. Here it is still cold and the trees haven't blossomed to full extend yet.
ReplyDeleteOh, and, obviously, I love the holo. :)
They are lovely, but they are sadly all done blooming now - it goes by so fast!
DeleteOh it's so beautiful... this year I won't miss out on the stockholm Cherry bloom, it's over too quickly and I miss it all winter long.
ReplyDeleteAgree - they fall off so fast! I hope you share pictures!
DeleteMmmm, so many things I love - cherry blossoms, anything pink, and holo polish! Love! Wish I could find that OPI!
ReplyDeleteI've seen the DS displays in beauty stores and Ulta, it seems it isn't completely a HTF... yet... ;)
DeleteI did find some DS's at my local Ulta, but only the scattered holo ones, none of the linears sadly. I scooped up Extravagance and it quickly became one of my favorites. :)
