Zoya Color Box: The Peter Som Collection
When I heard Zoya created three custom colors for Peter Som's Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show, I actually hesitated clicking 'add to cart' because I'm someone who wants to see a few swatches before purchasing. But then I met a gal at the Custo Barcelona show who was behind the scenes at the Peter Som show and she convinced me I needed these polishes in my life! Great decision. My friend, are you out there? ;)
This was my first time ordering a Zoya color box. The feeling of opening a black, velvet box with three amazing nail polishes snugly tucked inside is nothing less than magical!
I adore everything about the way Zoya packaged the Peter Som polishes - there is even a little booklet included! These polishes are almost too pretty to disturb... but let's get to the swatches anyway :)
Audrey is a sheer pinky-nude that covers impressively even. I love the way Audrey lights up my nails! Any trace of yellow is covered and my nails look smooth and clean. Wouldn't it make a great polish for a glitter sandwich?
In the picture below, my ring and pointer fingers are naked to show you the subtle wash of color (2) coats of Audrey provides.
Katharine (my bottle is labeled Katharine: the website spells this polish as Katherine) is a sheer eggplant purple. Katharine is much sheerer than a jelly polish. But like Audrey, Katherine applied perfectly even and smooth. This would be a another great shade to use in a glitter sandwich. Below I used (2) coats.
Zoya describes Evvie as a "rich, decadent, smoky, eucalyptus cream". What a delicious and accurate description! Zoya gave Evvie their best formula - it's almost a one-coater. This shade is everything I want in a fall color (I can't believe I'm talking about fall polish already...) and it's so unique and fresh. This smoky evergreen has a chameleon quality to it - in low light, Evvie looks more grey. Can you think of anything like this? I sure can't!
Audrey, Katharine, and Evvie are custom colors created by Zoya for Peter Som's Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show. Bravo, Zoya! This collection actually sold out from Zoya's website within one day, but hopefully the fairies will think about bringing these beautiful polishes back this fall.

These are pretty! Evvie is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteYah Evvie is a seriously amazing polish :)
DeleteOh my goodness! This is so deja vu but I'm here! :) I finally had some time to search for your blog and its so coincidental AND awesome that this is the first post I read! I am SO happy that you liked the shades and even happier that you mentioned me in this post :D. I've only read one post but your blog is great!! Definitely writing in the right tone and you sound utterly professional. It won't be long before Zoya, Essie, China Glaze and O.P.I. are knocking down your doors ;)
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be checking your blog out more in the future. Keep writing!!! -Tiffany
Hey there you are!!! So happy you found me, thanks so much for the words of encouragement :) Let's keep in touch!
DeleteAnd your pictures are fabulous!
ReplyDeletexo Tiffany
aw thanks!
DeleteI've been admiring all of these colors ever since I got my box on Wednesday! They are PERFECTION! A big reason I ordered the box was because of Katherine (it's spelled exactly how I spell my name). The gorgeous colors were just an added bonus! My bottle came spelled with an "a" in the middle, too! I contacted CS, and they're sending a new sticker to me in the mail! So, if you're OCD like me, you might try contacting them and they'll send you one! I cant' wait to try ALL of these! Did you order any other boxes? I only ordered this one.
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice of them to send you the correct sticker - I mean it's your name it should be right lol! I'm kind of a fan of little errors like this, sometimes those are the ones that become "collectible" :)
DeleteMe too! I'm keeping the Katherine sticker they sent me with the box, but I'm not affixing it to my bottle. I have a little POCD (Polish Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), I think! I'm almost considering buying a 2nd Peter Som, just to have a back-up! :-)
DeleteI'm digging Katherine/Katharine. And Evvie, but that's a given. Fingers crossed Zoya releases these in their general collection.
ReplyDeleteI feel that you could do some really interesting layering with Katherine!
DeleteI've heard others talk about these being released later in the fall. In a way, I kind of hope so, because everyone needs these in their collection. But the hoarder/collector in me hopes they stay LE!
ReplyDeleteHaha gotta love LE polishes... as long as you have it though! They are so frustrating when you can't get them or they sell out!
DeleteI love the finishes on these. They are beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteZoya didn't hold back on the formulas - and the shine! Oh, the shine!
DeleteI really like how Audrey and Evvie look on your nails :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Audrey surprised me - I guess I'm just used to color on my nails, but that's sure one nude I could wear proudly :)
DeleteWow Evvie is my favorite... so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt's a stunner, one of those shades you could wear often and not tire of :)
DeleteEvvie reminds me a lot of Essie's Power Clutch from the 2011 fall collection - wonder how they compare?
ReplyDeleteOooh good eye! I actually looked at Power Clutch today after reading your comment :) Power Clutch has more of an olive look to it. Evvie almost has a touch of teal.
DeleteI thought I could go without these until I saw your pictures of Evvie. Hopefully Zoya will make that one regular stock.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too! I think it's going to be a big lemming if not!
Deleteoow look at those colors! They remind me a lot of OPI sorbets, which I just love! I would defonately buy this set...but have contacted Zoya before and they won't ship to my country. I'll just hunt a swapper down ;) thank you for sharing these beauties!
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, Katharine/Katherine is even more sheer than the one sorbet I have :)
DeleteI had to think about it...but I Ebay-ed it!! :) It's on it's way to me, and I'm very curious. I'm very glad you showed us the photos thank you so much sweetie!
DeleteOh yay!!! Glad you tracked it down! I had no idea this was already on eBay lol... hope you didn't pay too much :)
Deleteno actually :) It was same price as Zoya eshop but had about 10usdollars shippingcosts to it. Keeping in mind it was an almost instant soldout item with for now a limited edition state...it's worth to me :)
DeleteHoly &^@( I'm loving this! I'm really in a nude/neutral kick lately, and I think that nude would look great! Somehow I don't own a single Zoya Polish.. I think I need to splurge soon!
ReplyDeleteSeriously? What are you waiting for lol :) You are in for a treat!
DeleteThese are so pretty. I love how light they feel on the nail!
ReplyDeleteLight AND smooth = full of win :)
DeleteThese are gorgeous!! I love the jelly quality to them!! :D
ReplyDeleteYea it's funny because I used to think the jelly finish was just bad nail polish lol (I mean, some nail polish of the 90s was just plain watery!) but now I totally can appreciate a good jelly :)
DeleteTruly stunning, I love them all!
ReplyDeleteI hope Zoya releases them again!
DeleteThese are lovely! Thanks for swatching them.
ReplyDeleteI snagged several of the Zoya color boxes last year and now I'm overrun with the little soft velvet things, haha.
I looove those boxes lol, I can't believe this is my first one! They must look nice together with your collection :)
Deletelovely! i just got my box today, too, and it's sooo pretty. thanks for the swatches!
ReplyDeleteOoo you are in for a treat :)
Deleteholy hell i need these like ASAP! i hope they come out with them again!!! evvie SHALL be mine!! gorgeous swatches.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kellie! Evvie is amazing. It would be sad if Zoya put these colors in a vault (haha... I'm picturing the Disney vault) because they really are amazing. Fingers crossed they come out again :)
DeleteI love Evvie! Gorgeous color!
ReplyDeleteIt's really awesome, I hope Zoya brings it back next fall!
DeleteEvvie is a gorgeous shade <3 I hope they decide to release it again next Fall!!
ReplyDeleteSame! I might run out of it by the fall! LOL!
DeleteI really hope that they re-release Evvie. I didn't even find out about the boxes until they were sold out and it is such a gorgeous, unique color. I need it in my life for sure!
ReplyDeleteRebecca
It was gone in a blink, wasn't it! I *almost* didn't get it - I try not to make impulse purchases because something is LE :) Hopefully Evvie, if not all, will be released again!
